Lessons and Classes

Shana offers private music lessons in her home and online via Zoom. Shana teaches a weekly String Band group class in Wolfeboro, NH, and often presents workshops covering particular styles or instruments. Shana loves working with students of any level; beginners are welcome! Shana’s unique personal journey greatly informs her teaching, she can truly empathize with adult beginners as they embark on learning something new and challenging. Shana is deeply committed to helping each student connect with their own personal music expression that waits within.

Shana has over 35 years of experience in teaching music, and works with students of any level. She teaches many instruments including fiddle, mandolin, bouzouki, 5 string banjo, ukulele, guitar, lap steel guitar, tenor guitar, fretted dulcimer, piano, harmonium, and hand percussion. If you live outside the immediate area, consider coming to the scenic lakes region of New Hampshire for a day, weekend or week long music intensive. There are many places to stay nearby, from campgrounds to B&Bs, and lots of seasonal outdoor activities to enjoy while you’re here.

Community String Band – Thursdays in Wolfeboro, NH.

Community String Band class: traditional Southern old time and New England contra dance music taught by ear, led by multi-instrumentalist Shana Aisenberg in a supportive and fun atmosphere. This ongoing class has been meeting in various locations since 2001.
